You probably assumed this wasn’t for you.

Most people who want straighter teeth never ask, because they already decided the answer is no. It usually isn’t. Treatment starts at $400 down, then a monthly payment built around your case.

Dr. Matthew Dillon and Dr. Shantall Di Loreto of MSD Dental Studio in Coral Springs, FL

$400 down to begin. Then $___ per month, depending on your case. Your exact number, in writing, at your free consult.

The real reason people wait

It usually isn’t the teeth.

People put off straightening their teeth for years, and when they finally come in and we ask why they waited, the answer is almost never about the teeth.

It’s that they assumed it would be thousands of dollars up front. That they’d be quoted a number before anyone explained anything. That they’d be lectured about how long it’s been. Or simply that orthodontics is something other people get to have — teenagers, or people with better insurance, or people with more money.

If you’ve covered your mouth in a photo, or trained yourself to smile without showing your teeth, you already know how much this quietly costs you. It shows up at work, in photos, in the first thirty seconds of meeting someone. None of that is vanity. It’s just what teeth do.

Here’s the part worth knowing: the barrier is almost always smaller than the one people imagine.

What it actually costs

$400 down. Then monthly.

To begin

$400

That’s the down payment to start treatment — scan, plan, and your first set of aligners or your bands on.

Then each month

$___

Spread over $___ months. Where you land depends on your case — we’ll explain exactly why below, and give you the number in writing before you commit.

Straight answer

Why we won’t quote you a monthly payment over the phone.

Because it wouldn’t be a real number, and you’d find that out later.

Two people can walk in wanting the same thing — straighter front teeth — and need completely different treatment. One needs eight months of gentle movement. The other has a bite that has to be corrected before the teeth can go anywhere. Same complaint, very different amount of work.

So the monthly payment moves with three things:

  • How far your teeth have to travel. Mild crowding is a shorter, less expensive case than a significant bite correction.
  • How long treatment takes. More months of treatment means more materials, more visits, and more monitoring.
  • Whether anything has to come first. Active decay or gum disease gets handled before teeth are moved, because moving teeth in an unhealthy mouth makes things worse.

At your consult we scan your teeth, plan the movement, and hand you an itemized number. Not a range. Not a starting-at. The actual figure for your mouth.

Your first visit

What actually happens when you come in.

1. We listen first

You tell us what bothers you when you look in the mirror. Not a sales conversation — we need to know what you’re actually trying to fix.

2. A digital scan

No impression trays. A scanner builds a 3D model of your teeth in a few minutes.

3. You see the preview

A digital projection of where your teeth would end up. You look at the result before you decide anything.

4. The number, in writing

Down payment, monthly amount, how many months, what’s included. You take it home if you want to.

Nothing gets done that day unless you’re in pain and want it handled. You can hear the entire plan and say not right now. That’s a complete answer, and it’s one we hear often.

Aligners or braces

We’ll tell you which one your case actually needs.

Clear aligners are nearly invisible and come out for meals, but they only work if you wear them 20 to 22 hours a day. Braces don’t depend on you remembering, and they handle the hardest movements better.

Neither is universally better, and we don’t push one. Dr. Shantall completed orthodontic training through Progressive Orthodontics and plans these cases with Dr. Dillon’s restorative eye on the finish, so you get a straight recommendation for your situation rather than whatever we’d rather sell.

A note from Dr. Shantall

“The hardest part for most of my patients was walking in. Not the treatment, not the payments — just asking. And almost every one of them says afterward that they wish they’d done it years earlier. I’d rather show you what’s possible and let you decide on your own timeline than have you spend another five years assuming the answer is no.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much is the down payment for braces or aligners?

It is $400 down to begin treatment at MSD Dental Studio. Your monthly payment after that depends on how much tooth movement your case needs and how long treatment takes, so we give you your exact number in writing at your free consultation before you commit to anything.

Why can't you tell me the monthly payment before I come in?

Because it would not be a real number. A case that needs mild front-tooth alignment and a case that needs a full bite correction take very different amounts of time and material. Rather than advertise a figure that changes once we see your mouth, we scan your teeth, plan the movement, and hand you the actual monthly amount at the consult.

Do I need insurance to afford orthodontic treatment?

No. Many patients have no orthodontic coverage at all and still move forward using the payment plan. If you do have orthodontic benefits, we will check them and apply whatever they cover, which lowers what you finance.

Am I too old for braces or aligners?

No. A large share of orthodontic patients are adults, some of them well into their fifties and sixties. Teeth move at any age as long as the gums and bone underneath are healthy, which is one of the things we check at your consult.

What if my teeth are in bad shape and I am embarrassed?

You will not be lectured. Most people who come in have been putting this off for years, and the reason is almost never the teeth themselves. We tell you what we see, explain the options, and you decide what happens next.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. The consultation includes a scan and a digital preview of your projected result. Nothing gets done that day unless you are in pain and want it handled. You can hear the whole plan and say not right now, and that is a complete answer.

Payment plans at MSD Dental Studio are provided through $___ and are subject to approval. The $400 down payment begins treatment; the remaining balance is paid in monthly installments.
